Cynthia is
the third child of Anthony and Maria (Robles) Fish of Sunland,
CA. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and
graduated at the top of her class in math and science from
Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga in 1976.
Cynthia began her professional career in high-data-rate
acoustic analysis systems with Geophysical Systems, a petroleum
exploration company. Moving to Northrop Aircraft Corporation
in the early '80s, she continued growing her high-data-rate
systems expertise with work on the B2 project from its simulations
to flight tests. In 1996 she moved to the Skunk Works of
Lockheed Martin Marietta and contributed her expertise to
projects including the X22 space plane, the F-22 and the
X35 JSF figher.
In addition to being a brillant systems technologist and
genius in acoustic vibration analysis, Cynthia was a gifted
people-person who managed technical teams extraordinarily
well. She kept her brain connected to her heart, evidenced
through her affectionate smile and wicked-clever sense of
humor. This served her well not only in the workplace, but
also on the many electronic bulletin boards she moderated.
Cynthia's enthusiasm for state-of-the-art technology included
her love of stick-shift sports cars and 1000cc motorcycles.
Riding her motorcycle was a meditation for Cynthia for years.
Creativity infused all of Cynthia's personal interests,
and her study of gemstones and her jewelry designs gave
her a special joy. She was an accomplished artist in many
media. Cynthia generously shared her culinary skill as an
avid griller, her embrace of the hottest peppers, and her
cultivation of the art of raising fine tequila to the level
it desrves."
Cynthia actively supported animal resue organizations,
and since 2004 served on the Board of Doberman
Pinscher SOS. Her own pets were very dear to her. She
hand-fed her Amazon parrot, Flutter, from the time she was
a few weekes old. Cynthia saved Maggie, a retired racehorse,
from the glue factory. She adopted and rescued several animals;
Mojave, a feral cat, the color of a desert sunrise, and
three dogs: Virbro, Sadie, and Titus.
